The giants of the nineties are the great inspiration. Among them are Kenny Garrett, Kenny Kirkland and the Marsalis Brothers. The repertoire consists of a mixture of original numbers and numbers taken from the postbop repertoire. The five members are establishing themselves on the Danish and Swedish jazz scene. By employing circular motions and precise control of contact points, he draws out an extensive range of pitches, harmonics, and overtones from the drumhead. With multiple musical languages from jazz, rock, experimental and contemporary music they set their own artistic DNA within the musical frame of free improvised music. A must see!<br /><br />Katt Hernandez is a violinist: an improvisor, composer and maker of other sound work. In addition to her solo work, she has also played with Ville Bromander's Unfolding Orchestra, Lotte Anker's subhabitat ensemble, Klas Nevrin's Music in Disorder, Fire! Orchestra, GGR Betong, KAI EN Butoh company, among others. She recently earned a PhD in Music from Lund university, entitled "The Ephemeral City: Songs for the Ghost Quarters". Based in Sweden since 2010, Katt is also a veteran of experimental music scenes on the East Coast, alongside a vast array of musicians, dancers, visual artists, puppeteers, film makers and performance artists.<br /><a rel="noopener noreferrer" href="http://www.katthernandez.net/" target="_blank">http://www.katthernandez.net</a><br /><br />Axel Dörner is a trumpet player, electronic musician and composer. He was born in Cologne,1964. Studied piano and trumpet (with Malte Burba) at the Musikhochschule, Cologne. Lives in Berlin since 1994. He has worked together with numerous internationally respected figures in the fields of "Improvised Music", "Composed Contemporary Music", "Jazz" and "Electronic Music" and has developed a unique style of trumpet playing based in part on unusual, often self-invented techniques. He has toured in Europe, America, Australia, Asia and Africa and appeared on numerous CD and record releases.<br /><a rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://axeldoerner.org/" target="_blank">https://axeldoerner.org/</a><br /><br />Line-up:<br />Katt Hernandez (US) - violin<br />Axel Dörner (DE) - trumpet<br /><br />_<br />21:30 Extemporize<br />On this evening you can experience a concert of pure instant composing with the musicians particpating at Impro Camp.<br />They will be conducted by Nana Pi with the music sign language Extemporize - a sign language system developed by Nana Pi. The signs consist of music elements like loop, register, dynamics, multiphonics, etc. and are going to be given by the conductor.
